Wichita has an incredible amount of women-owned businesses. Due to quarantine, I’ve been sourcing a lot more locally and have stumbled onto new businesses that are crushing it. Couple with two requests for a local guide on how to support Wichita women-owned businesses, bam, here we are. The best part is that many of these Wichita women-owned businesses also ship! If you’re local, most of them are offering curbside pick-up or drop-off. (Honestly I kind of want this concierge service to happen all the time post COVID-19.)
Bungalow26
Kelsey is amazing, funny and genuinely invested in the Wichita community. Her shop in Delano is an absolute treasure. I love it because I tend to be able to find a gift for anyone in my life due to the unique variety of what she carries.
What to buy: Wichita candles (College Hill is my favorite but that’s also because it’s where I live.), the best chocolate bars that have the most unexpected and gourmet combinations, any of her soaps and cute home decor. Plus she gave me these awesome containers, pictured, to help me display my soap in a prettier way. She just gets it.
Kelsey ships for a flat fee and makes picking out birthday gifts you almost forgot to order a breeze!
Black Label Candle Company
Tiffany made some of the most awesome candles! She taught me how to know if a candle “burns cheap” and I can never go back. I love that she listens to her customers and engages with the on social media for her next candle scent.
What to buy: Her entire spring collection (buy here on Etsy) and I am DYING to get my hands on the soon to be released “Hot Buttered Croissant.” I mean, you to to smell all the glory of carbs and fat without eating it? Sign me up.
Tiffany ships incredibly fast so don’t be surprised if you items arrive before you ever expected them!
Beauty Boost Skincare
Full disclosure, I do Beauty Boost’s marketing. However, I stand behind the work Ashly does. My best friend Kara and I were talking about how no one can deny how much better people brows are when she does them. SHE JUST KNOWS! I’ve been going to her for years and her prices are always affordable and service is excellent.
What to buy: Facial in a Bag for $25, book an eyebrow wax + tint (I do it every three weeks, best decision ever) or check out any of these products I recommend.
Nectar Republic
I’ve talked about Nectar Republic before, here. But holy moly,I swear they double in size every year in what they offer. It’s awesome. They ship nationwide and you can shop, here. I love that Lisa is so active in the Wichita community and I see her comment on what could be a “competitors” social media and it’s always uplifting!
What to buy: I have yet to find a candle that isn’t great from them. They have a wide variety of candles and have expanded their line to have personal care. Also, they have a new Aroma Bar and class that looks SO fun! I can’t wait to try it out.
Lyndon’s
Lyndon’s is a place I go when I want to feel like I’m not in Wichita. I’ve gotten several items over the years from there and 2020 has felt like once a month I’ve been in there. This dress you all loved was from there and I got it when it was marked down 75%! Camille has also been helping me understand tailoring more and they have in-house services that make it even easier to feel polished.
What to buy: All of it. My favorite part of the Lyndon’s experience is Camille understanding what I’m looking for and seeing something that works across all brands. I tend to be label-loyal and miss items!
Zeep
I am currently waiting on running out of products I have to place my order from Ashley via Zeep. They have the CUTEST drops every season and I never knew I would want to eat soap. Like, legitimately, sometimes it looks like food and I have to remember it’s soap. They also have a HUGE inventory of other products that would make amazing gifts.
What to buy: Whipped soap! This stuff looks insane and also a great price! I’ve watched entirely too many mesmerizing videos of these being made.
beautygirl24
Wow, these all look and sound wonderful! I think people are finally coming around to shopping local when possible, and it’s such a positive aspect to this whole pandemic. I really wish I lived there so I could get my brows done…I hate my brows after years of overtweezing and I have yet to find “my girl” here in my area. I hope people in your town read your post and support these fabulous women!
