What do you do when you name your blog The Adored Life and then you go through a time when you realize life isn’t always that grand and sometimes you don’t adore it? I’ve wrestled with this question since I last posted on September 8th. There’s been radio silence on this blog for a while. There’s been eerie silence everywhere in my life. For those of you who have reached out to me, thank you. I’ve started replying to your emails, tweets, messages, everything but simply not known what to say. There have been a lot of changes in my life, especially the last six months. Not all of them have been positive. A great many have been positive. The past month has seen both an incredible amount of good and bad. I’ve had days where I don’t smile at all and wonder how I could ever share the bad times with you.

My life hasn't been that adored lately as well. It sucks, but it shall pass and good things will come again, I guarantee it ^_^ No point in worrying about it! You look incredible in here, adore the plaid shirt and the fancy shoes!

Hang in there, sweet Alissa. Graduation is a huge life change. You've had a structured environment for years where people tell you where to be at a certain time and what you have to accomplish to make it to the next level. Now you're at that next level and those people are no where to be found. It's like they opened this door for you to a hallway with countless other doors, and it's so hard to know which path to take. I'm thinking of you and always here if you want to chat over a boozy snow cone:) This is a difficult time, but I promise it will get easier:)

Hang in there! If bad times never happens we would never truly understand the joys of good times.

I've missed you Alissa! I kept checking my feed, thinking there was some sort of glitch and it wasn't updating. I'm glad to see you back and I know you've had a lot of struggles with what comes next in life, but you are right – you are far from alone. This blog has always been a place where you share both the good and the bad, unabashedly – something I completely respect you for. We will all be here when you are ready to talk about it.

I can totally relate– my blog used to be called a journey in effortless style, and I had hit a point where nothing in my life was effortless- not even getting dressed. So I changed it. But I send you nothing but the best!

It's good to see your smiling face again! I've wondered what was going on with you. I hope things get better. And not to be too cheesy, but I think the blog name still works out. Life is good even when it's not perfect. So I think the Adored Life can just mean you choose to focus on the positives. Sending hugs in your direction!!

Awe, sweet friend….I am so sorry that you have hot some bumps lately…we all go through crappy seasons, but I fully believe those times are the ones that teach us the most about ourselves and help us grow stronger. Believe me, I have been there. Keep your chin and please keep smiling!! It's good to see you back! xoxo

Alissa, I am sorry to hear that you are going through some rough patches lately. It really is human nature and everyone goes through them. As cliche as it sounds, sometimes we need to go through the bad stuff to make us appreciate the good stuff that much more. I graduated university about 3 or so years ago and what I had planned to happen after graduating really wasn't what actually happened. While I did end up getting my masters, career-wise has been a bit of a struggle. But it is all a part of learning and growing, and what better time than any to figure it all out after school! Take it one day at a time. You will adjust! If you need anything girl please let me know π Also, you are the cutest thing ever in photos. Such a beautiful smile! And loving the shoes!

On a happy note, you look so happy and full of life in these photos! I'm sorry you are on a bumpy road now, but I think that sometimes we need some hard stuff to enjoy the goodβ¦even if we can't see the reason why just yet. Hang in there;)

I was seriously about to email you this week, I was like WHERE IS SHE?! IS SHE OKAY?! Only because you are so good at being on top of updating your blog with stories and gorgeous outfit photos. Glad you are back!I
I have now been out of college for over four years, but my emotions after graduating and settling into a new life that fall were insane and I can remember every moment of my life during that time. It is a crazy time, good and bad and if you're like me, it will take a couple years to start sorting everything out. But you will and there will be a lot OF GOOD times and positives in there! So hang in there girl!
Julie
Keep your head up! I just graduated in May, and life after college was not at all what I thought it would be. It's the first time in our lives where we don't have any direction on what to do next, and it's terrifying! I've had some serious ups and downs in the last 5 months- moving back home, unemployment, amazing travels, finding my own apartment and finally finding a full time job last week. I still have no idea what I want to do with my life, but I'm taking baby steps. Just know you're not alone; the more I talk to other people the more I realize that everyone our age is going through this too!

If it wasn't for the bad days, we wouldn't appreciate the good days, right? I hope things are on an upswing for you. I also wanted to say thanks for your page about curl care. I have stick straight hair, but my daughter's hair is curly, and I'm really having to educate myself on how to take care of it (she's 8). And finally, I originally came to your blog to invite you over to join the Missouri Women Bloggers community. Our goal is to gather, grow, and connect Missouri bloggers, and it's free for anyone to join in. You can just Google Missouri Women Bloggers to find the website and check it out. I would love it if you would join us!

I first want to say that this outfit is gorgeous. The red and blue plaid are so vibrant and it's gorgeous.
I also really like how you really put yourself out there and it really felt like I was talking to a close friend while I was reading this. I hope you're doing okay and feeling a little more hopeful! I recently just graduated from college and let me tell you, the road to graduation was a hard one and my senior year was one of the hardest times in my life. But, now that I've graduated and faced my fears I'm incredibly hopeful for the future and I keep trying to look ahead. I hope you keep moving forward and learn to smile everyday because you deserve it.
Beautiful blog!

Oh sweetie, you don't know how good it is to see your beautiful face again. i'd been so concerned that I was wracking my brain trying to figure out who to contact to see how you were. My heart sank when I read you were going through some difficult times. Please feel free to reach out to me, I'd be more than happy to hold your hand and comfort your heart. I had also thought I already left you a comment here but alas I can't find it. The times when life takes a down turn can seem so dark, and no matter what your closest friends tell you, it can be hard to believe a better day will come. Don't worry it will, take the time to let yourself go through the necessary steps, feel what you need to feel. When you return, I know, after reading all these comments that so many of us will be rooting for you during your absence and beyond. You're a strong one, in the end you'll grow from what you've been going through. Wish I could hold you in real life, stay up late and chat, offer you endless cupcakes with frosting, and most importantly of all just be there if you need someone. I've grown to love you as a good friend, don't forget that. ttys

Oh my gosh, Alissa, Alissa, Alissa! I've been thinking so much about you and where you've gone. I'm sending you the biggest internt hug right now and wishing you the best in this little detour that's been going on in your life. I'm going to be uber cliche and say that whatever it happening is going to have good outcomes, no matter how bad it may seem right now, and that things are going to work out. I'm so here for you all the time if you need to say something or just auGH anything1 I've missed your overwhelming presence and love love love you for who you are no matter what–even if you're not in the happiest state right now. (guess what? nobody can walk around shooting rainbows out their ass 24/7 or even for a whole day or sometimes even for just an hour a day) I don't know how coherent this even is, but point being: HANG IN THERE AND I LOVE YOU MY SWEET LITTLE DONUT EATER.

I'm glad your back again! Life doesn't always happen the way you plan but it gives you enough to get through each day. We have the choice to live it joyfully and continue pursuing our goals! You got this gurl! Trust me I've been there and I still haven't reached that "adored life" yet. Keep the faith π

I have been wondering where you have been! I am glad to see you are back at it. It is hard to blog when things in your life are just meh… because everything we put on the blog is generally so happy all the time. I hope things get better for you soon!
