My last What to Watch post was really popular so I thought I’d give you some recommendations for this weekend. Obviously there’s a million other things to watch (I will ALWAYS want you to watch Curb Your Enthusiasm, Veep, Arrested Development and Insecure!) but here’s what’s on my radar.
Enola Holmes
I have loved Sherlock Holmes since I was a child. Any movie. Any book. Anything related to Sherlock Holmes I have been excited for. So how did I miss the fact there was a movie about his SISTER?!?! I have no idea but you can rest assured knowing this is how I’m spending my weekend.
The First Wives Club
I watched this for the first time and OMG WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME IT WAS SO CUTE. I loved it so much I started listening to the soundtrack. It’s the perfect easy movie that makes you feel good and doesn’t require very much involvement and commitment. It’s a familiar favorite for a reason. Plus that ending number? ON REPEAT!
Mad Money
So I’m apparently on a Diane Keaton kick. Similar to The First Wives Club, it’s a low commitment movie that is an easy watch. I don’t think this movie actually did well in the box office which kind of makes it the perfect at-home movie. Not worth going to a movie theater for but very much worth eating crab rangoon while watching. My only hope is these ladies have made good money on the syndication or whatever its called because I think they had a lot of fun shooting this.
Girlfriends
I have now binged the entire series in like two weeks since it’s been on Netflix. All of these women are terrible until like the sixth season, but omg Toni Childs. And yet, here I am, a person who binged the entire series in a few weeks. Anyway, it’s wonderful how they confront social issues but it’s also infuriating the same issues are still prevalent today. It is a really timely series to watch.
The Social Dilemma
I absolutely think Facebook is one of the worst things that’s even been created. Talk about how toxic masculinity can manifest itself. You start a website to rank attractive women and end up creating one of the most evil companies that is considered essential to life? Ugh. I know I’m still on Instagram but I deactivated my personal Facebook. The people I know in my life that love Facebook and use it as their main way to disseminate information are part of huge conspiracies that are have crept into their personal lives I have to disassociate into order to even say hi. ANYWAY THERE’S A WHOLE LOT TO SAY ABOUT THAT BUT JUST PLEASE ACTUALLY GET NEWS AND NOT FACEBOOK FEEDS.
This week’s selection is a mix of old and new movies. Let me know what you think! Drop me a DM and let me know if you loved or hated any of these.

I’m equally-exited for Enola Holmes – it looks like a fun, cute movie and bonus that my celebrity crush (Henry Cavill) is in it. The First Wives Club is a classic, so good!

I’ve never watched the first wives club either, I’ll have to put it on my list, and the social dilemma sounds like something everyone needs to see.

Super excited to watch Enola Holmes. Mad Money is also one of those C-grade movies I’ve always loved. Also, any J-Lo movie is the start to a great weekend if you ask me!
