I’ve written a lot of scary stuff for the internet, but today is scary in a different way. In the last year I’ve had to dismantle myself, inspect every part and determine if it goes back in and then figure out who I am. The Adored Life name hadn’t fit for quite a while but nothing came to me. I realized that was because I didn’t know who I was. So, much like my life, I had to dig in and tear apart The Adored Life.
I had safely existed in the box I created on this platform. You knew I liked donuts and polka dots but honestly? I’ve evolved a lot from that. I kept trying to fit 29 year old me into the box that was made for 23 year old me. My mind and body takes up more space than they did then, and that’s okay. That’s growth and why I always had that little pang in my gut that said The Adored Life needed to evolve. I had to do a lot of soul-searching and figuring out who I was first, before I could tell you who I am. It’s been almost an exact year since I started to radically change my life. I’m proud to say, I’m ready to share who I am with you, not in a box, but the raw, honest, relatable version.
So here we are. Honestly Relatable is your digital BFF and we are going to glow up, encourage and radiate TOGETHER! YES, YES WE ARE! I’d really love if it you explored the About page to learn more about the mission statement of Honestly Relatable.
So here’s what you can expect starting this week!
New Topics and Community Voice
- Nothing is off limits!
- Don’t worry, it’s always going to have the same voice and candor you know me for. However, we’re going to talk about some saucy things. Like favorite sex toys and love and loss while also kick your career into high gear. We’re going to talk about what everyone wants to read about or know they aren’t alone but don’t want to admit it.
- Food, yes, food.
- I am not going to be a food blogger, but I really am good at baking and cooking and it’s been a big love of mine for a while. I’m excited to share that side of myself with you and help you make cooking for one (or a crowd!) fun.
- Contributors!
- Next week you will start reading some incredible stories that will make you smile, laugh and be proud of other incredible people who make you believe there is some good in the world.
- I really want to dig into career development!
- Whether that’s how to dress, resume help or how to write more confident emails, there’s going to be a career hub for you.
Sincere question, if I did another run of these shirts would you want to order them? They’d be about $20.
New Features
- Curly Hair Care
- Sorry! This one I had every intention of being updated by the time I launched but there’s many resources I want to give you and it’s just taking a little more time. In the meantime, you can see my exact curly hair products here and ones I’ve also liked in the past.
- I will be doing IG videos of my wash days, refreshes and more!
- Gift Guides
- One of my little dreams in life is to be a hired “gift concierge” as gifting (getting and giving) is one of my absolute favorite things in life. At work I am a go-to across many department leaders to find creative and personalized gifts and I’d love to help you, for free! Submit your gift concierge request here.
- Shopping Guides
- I’ve created the guides I wished I had. Whether that’s an entire page devoted to career style, beauty and skincare or actually useful kitchen tools, you’ll find a shopping guide for it.
- Newsletter + Exclusive Content
- If you sign up for the newsletter you’ll receive one email a week from me. One of my most popular posts is 10 Things I’ve Loved This Month and that will be moving to email (unless I get other feedback) so be sure to sign up for that exclusive! I hate, hate, hate people who send out a lot of emails so trust me I will keep my name in your inbox to a minimum.
I’m More Conveniently Accessible
Have you noticed I’ve been posting a lot more in stories and also talking (ranting)? My goal is to start having these conversations with you more often. While it’s scary, I always lose a few followers when I post a rant, it’s also really wonderful to know that means you guys are following for who I really am.
I’ll be honest, I have been afraid of literally using my voice. Why? What if you don’t like my Midwest lack of accent that is a whole vibe? I’ve been paralyzed by my own fear and that’s stopping me from growing and getting to talk to YOU!
I Have to Admit I Need Help – Can You Please Share?
There’s no shortcuts to getting to 10K (oh wait, there are but I won’t buy followers or do loop giveaways) to get the swipe up to make it easier to read the blog. However, the one thing that can help me get closer is if you would be willing to pin or share IG posts. I’m going to be pushing out some kick-butt graphics are that IG candy and empowering and I’d love, love, love if one spoke to you if you shared it. I truly can’t grow without YOU. I don’t have $$$ to throw into advertising the blog, so think of Honestly Relatable as a small business but your support is free! The more I grow the more I can put into this and well, I have a LOT of big dreams for you and I!
Watch Instagram for some giveaways and other ways I’m making it fun to say Oh HEY! You may like this girl too!
Thank you for being here for me. I want to make sure you feel as supported as I do, tenfold. I’m just a DM away or a quick email! Eleanor is too but she’s been less than enthusiastic about learning how to type. She’s got other career goals.
Thank you for letting me share who I am with you. I love you all!

So exciting!! Regarding the IG stories, I love it when my favorite bloggers post stories. I love hearing their voices and actually seeing their personalities, instead of just reading them. It’s like when the movie is better than the book π

I’m super here for this – we have a lot in common – I took myself apart and now I’m putting myself together. And I love to bake and cook. Looking forward to see where you take this space!

I AM SO EXCITED FOR YOU AND THRILLED TO WATCH YOU GROW!!! I know I’m so late in commenting (I’m embarrassingly behind in blog reading, as usual), but I am signing up for your emails! And pinning things on Pinterest! I love that you’re speaking more in your stories (and you totally don’t sound like you’re from the Midwest to me?! haha!). I have maybe spoken one time in stories over the past few years and it still terrifies me. I’m also horrendously bad at videos so that may or may not be related. Anyway. Here for this and for you and for Honestly Relatable!
