Here’s the thing about New York: I love it. I love the atmosphere, I love the people, I love the food. I love not having to drive, I love walking around, I love listening to the clashing of languages and accents while walking through the park. I love it. More importantly, I love that New York has a very distinct style according to the neighborhood you are in. However, they all have one element in common, they are all incredibly sophisticated. No trend salads, no wearing all of the things. No extreme print mixing that should be accompanied by a warning sign for people who have seizures easily. They are chic, tailored and refined. They put together simple pieces in such a great way.

So after one night of walking around that pretty much meant every single outfit I had planned was too overworked, too trendy and was trying just a little too hard. So I scraped every outfit I had planned and decided to pull out this basic black romper for the first day. The only accessory I had on was this neon number from Hello Cheeseburger which got compliments everywhere we went. It even got me a discount at a store because the girl loved it so much.
