I’ve tried denim on denim like three times before. Every time I feel like I get closer and closer but still just not “there” yet. I believe firmly that what makes it successful is the perfect contrast in blue shades and so far I have not found that perfect contrast. Close. Oh so very close but no dice. Or whatever the saying is.
Oh and sometimes I wonder if in 10 years I am going to hate what I wore now. I used to hate denim x denim but now I like it. I wonder if when I am 32 (OMG I AM GOING TO BE 32 AT SOME POINT!) (Sorry, I’m still having issues thinking I am 22.) I will think I look like a complete idiot and wonder why I tried to so hard to make these outfits work. Anyone else ever wonder about this?
Perhaps next summer I will find the perfect mix of chambray and denim but for right now I considering my playing with this done. This outfit I am wearing is actually really comfortable so at least I have that going for me. Anyway, tata to denim on denim for a while! Or CIAO i blue jeans e chambray! See? I am TOTALLY using my Italian.
What do you think? Do you think you will look back and wonder why on earth you wore a certain outfit?

i cannot make it work yet, but you're a gorgeous bombshell and this is grand!

I totally wore this same outfit today! haha…I think it looks great! And I wonder in 10 years what I'm going to think of the outfits I wore on my blog too! I'll probably hate all of them! haha…

I think that you look gorgeous, and even if in 10 years you look back and don't like the outfit – you'll still be able to see how beautiful you are! xo

I really like this! And seriously, you are gorgeous! I often think about fashion and whether we'll look back on this time like "OMG what were we thinking?"

I haven't even tried this yet; I just drool over endless pictures on pinterest with chic rich chicks sporting a canadian tuxedo. You look super cute, though! Loving how that little crossbody adds a little hippy chic to your outfit!

I think this is a really cute combination, but I agree that I wonder if I'll hate it a few years down the road!

I'm sure I will. My style seems to change every few years and then I find myself looking back and wondering what the heck!

denim on denim was my go-to high school outfit, i've always loved it! everyone's style changes constantly, but bits and pieces are always the same of looks you are drawn to and patterns/colors you enjoy. i doubt you'll look back and laugh, more of just seeing a progression of where your 32 style developed from 🙂
also, i want to see those pieces you picked up last weekend! wear one! 🙂

I look back on old outfit photos from a couple years ago and wonder what I was thinking. Brightly colored tights? Um no, those will never be happening again.
So yes, it's entirely possible you will look at denim on denim and think that it was a ridiculous choice, but that is how fashion goes sometimes. But I also think you will look at these photos and love them, because you look happy and beautiful, and no matter what, that will never change.

Oh I definitely have a feeling I'll look back in ten years and wonder what I was thinking. I already have similar thoughts about outfits I wore a year or two ago.

Girl, you are making me feel ancient! I'll be 32 in 2 years!
Fashion trends are always changing so it's definitely possible to look back and think, why did I wear that. That's pretty much how I feel about the overall trend I rocked in 7th grade. Horrible!

I gave up the search for the perfect combo a long time ago. I remember always feeling like everyone could do it better than me, and that made me sad haha. I should actually wear my denim shirt more often. It's been in my closet for about half a year now and doesn't nearly get as much wear as it deserves. I love this outfit Alissa and I'm very proud of you for putting your Italian knowledge to work! xo

Yep, I often wonder how crazy this will all seem in 10 years. I think that about my wedding, too. It's been 6 years, and when I look back at pictures, I don't think they look outdated at all, but when I look at pictures from my sister's wedding (13yrs ago), it seems SO OLD! I felt like my colors and dress-styles were very classic, but as styles change, we may look back and be like "ugh, strapless dresses! 2007 was so tacky!"

This is a really cute look! I've only tried denim on denim once and liked it, so I'm thinking I need to wear it again!

Love the denim on denim look. You look adorable. I cannot handle thinking about 10 years from now. That will make me way older than I have the capacity to absorb right now. I am having issues dealing with 1 year older as it is!

You look so cute! I do look forward to looking back on my blog and seeing what crazy crap I wore. Hopefully I'll be more amused than embarassed 😉 xx

Sometimes I look back at pictures of me in college and I think, ohh why did I wear THAT. But I'm sure I thought I was super fashionable back then. It happens!
You look SO cute, love the denim on denim on you!

I have yet to try the denim on denim trend. I don't think I can pull it off. I really liked how you mixed the two though. You look gorgeous – really love your lip color 🙂

You look great! Denim on denim is one of those things I used to hate too–but now I love it! Ah, fashion–isn't it funny how we're always changing our minds!?

I'm pretty obsessed with denim on denim looks right now, and I think this one is definitely a success! I think it really depends on the chambray top – I have one which literally looks good with EVERY other shade of denim.

I totally get you! In middle school my best friend Lauren and I made soooo much fun of kids who worn jean on jean. I send her pictures now that I'm like "See! Now it works!" But she's still very ehh about it. I can't wait to look back on my blog in about 10 years, I think it will be hilarious. I already see some outfits on it I disagree with!
oh- and that first picture of you is GORGEOUS!
