It’s almost embarrassing to publish this idea. But a French Fry board needs to be talked about. Have you ever had the delight of making ALL.THE.FRIES and then putting on a huge board, loading it up with dipping sauces and then receive the highest or praise for your genius idea?? No? Okay, well I am here to tell you exactly how to get that french fry board praise.
This is a GREAT idea for a party where you have to feed kids too. They can fight over what french fry is weakest (crinkle cut) and strongest. Ooo! You could even do a french fry judging contest and make it a whole night! The ideas never end when it involves really good carbs.
Anyway, the idea for all of this came to me when I realized that you can buy Red Robin fries at the grocery store? And Arbys? I don’t really go into stores anymore so I guess that’s why I didn’t know. BUT I FEEL LIKE SOMEONE NEEDS TO TELL YOU THIS! Aldi even has sweet potato waffle fries now.
What Goes Into A French Fry Board
Again, it’s so easy it doesn’t take a recipe. Instead what I’m going to do is suggest what could go onto yours.
- You can literally just buy all your fries if you wanted to. There’s no shame in that.
- Crinkle Cut Fries
- Arbys Frozen Fries
- Red Robin Frozen Fries
- Sweet Potato Waffle Fries
- Alexia Spicy Sweet Potato Fries
- Tater Tots
- Hashbrowns
- Potatoes in Any Fried Form
Sauces
Here’s my suggestions for what sauces would please a crowd.
- Garlic Aioli
- Spicy Mustard
- Ketchup
- BBQ Sauce
- Ranch (if you’re nasty)
- Trader Joe’s Jalapeno Sauce
If you want to make sauces, have at it! I quite frankly don’t have enough time to recipe go-to sauce recipe but PLEASE send me your favorite sauces AND fries.
Tag me in your french fry boards! Do it for your family! Yourself! Anyone who loves potatoes! And fries! You’ll thank me later when everyone thinks you’re a genius for this idea.

this idea is hugely popular in Belguim and Germany. They even have restaurants that specialize in this very thing. You order your particular type of fries and then you get to pick as many sauces as you like….and there are several dozens to choose from. I loved it so much I was including a special repeat trip to visit one this past summer pre COVID. Thanks for reminding me I can do this at home.

Oh my gosh yes. And with my air fryer fries come out amazing but this, oh this. Now I’m trying to think of other things to go around the edges of my fry board. Sauces and maybe cheese and . . . .
