Can I just make this clear this is NOT a Galentine’s Day post? I feel like anything in February has a weird pressure to be related to either Galentine’s or Valetine’s Day. Maybe some of us just want to buy things for ourselves or loved ones without a day being assigned to it! (I mean but I ordered my Galentine’s gifts in January so it’s not like I’m not participating in that. No hate.
Better bloggers would call this something like “The Edit” or “The February Edit” but you guys learned what I do this month and I truly don’t have time to come up with a better name, yet. Maybe it will come to me on a plane, that’s where I get my best ideas. My hope is that I can help you find items that are thoughtful, practical or introduce you to a new brand you haven’t heard of through this. Ask any of my friends, I am impossible to buy for, so I hope I can help you with your impossible to buy for friends.
Velvet Headbands
I have loved these velvet headbands since November and they are SUCH a good deal. I actually broke up a pack and gave them to my nieces for Christmas. I use them at night to hold my hair back when I am doing my double-cleanse. Highly recommend buying and giving some as gifts and keeping one near your bathroom sink for easy access.
Ideal for: Anyone who hates getting their hair wet when washing their face, the fashionable friend. Your enneagram 7 will be ecstatic to get a gift of these.
Travel Jewelry Case
I got my first mini-travel jewelry case in November when I visited my sister in Colorado. Why that trip? I have no idea other than I knew I was shooting a lot of content and wanted to be super organized. Anyway, this has been SO helpful to have and honestly I’m not sure why I waited this long. For work trips I try to only wear one pair of earrings so I haven’t needed it. Personal travel? GIVE ME ALL THE OPTIONS!
P.S. This would make an incredibly thoughtful gift as a wedding, birthday or just because gift! I have my eye on this one for someone special.
Ideal for: The traveler, the organizer, the messy one who always needs help finding where things are. Honestly your enneagram 3 probably already has it but everyone would benefit from it, especially a 5w6, “the problem solver.”
Madewell Zip Tote
You all know I have carried my Madewell tote for years. My biggest complaint was that I wanted/needed a zipper. They released this beautiful tote before Christmas and I snagged black one for me and gave (in cognac) it as a gift to my BFF. I cannot say enough good things about it. It is the right size, shape and is made SO well!
Ideal for: The career-minded, organized, image-conscious person or someone who just likes monogrammed things. The minimalist will also love this.
Charcuterie Tools
My favorite quote I’ve seen in 2020 is, “Don’t ever let someone treat you like lunch meat. You are charcuterie baby, solid charcuterie.” That my entire vibe for 2020 which may have inspired these divine and splurgy cheese knives and accessories (like who knew I wanted an alligator cheese knife but now I do. Or floral ones!). I’ve got some upcoming food posts (and the past!) so you’ll definitely see these in action a lot!
I found these locally at Shop Tiffany which is one of my favorite places in Wichita to visit and dream about someday walking in and buying anything I like. Until then, I stick to things like this. (Similar version here for those not local)
Ideal for: The enneagram(s) 2, 3 in your life, the hostess, a house-warming gift. Honestly this is a great gift for the person who has everything!
A Small Plant
Look, I know that not everyone loves plants, BUT. Hear me out. My sister got me this plant and it is SO cute. She went to her local nursery and asked them to create a little terrarium for me. It is perfect and it is totally different to take care of from all my other plants and will soon go into the office with me! This is a really good gift for anyone, any gender and any stage of life.
Ideal for: The plant mom in your life, people who say they are bad at plants, someone who has an office, anyone you want to force to care about something living.
And that’s the February gift guide! If you purchase anything from it, let me know! Also if you have any occasions coming up, I’m happy to incorporate that into the next month’s guide.
Beautygirl24
Finally, a gift guide I actually can use! So many gift guides feel so contrived to me but this one is great. I love my Madewell zip tote ( I have the small size in a pretty lilac/blush color) and it truly is the most practical bag I’ve owned. It would make the perfect gift! Also love the leopard jewelry case. I have one that folds flat but I don’t really like it for some reason.
